Shane Been is a lifelong resident of the Town of Troy near Plain, where
he and the love of his life, Nikki, live in a 125-year-old farmhouse on
their family’s farm. It’s on this land—celebrating over
50 years in the family—that they raised their four children: Kyle,
Lucas, Lexi, and Ashley.
A graduate of Sauk Prairie High School and Vanderbilt University, Shane holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. His professional journey began in consulting with Accenture before he returned to the family farm and found his calling in education. Shane started as a math teacher at Sauk Prairie High School and now serves as an assistant principal, where he enjoys supporting students both academically and personally.
Outside of his work in education and helping on the farm with hay, soybeans and corn, Shane is actively involved in the community. He referees basketball, coaches high school softball, and has held various volunteer roles with local church and civic organizations. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his family—especially rock jumping at Devil’s Lake—and traveling with Nikki in search of great coffee and unique experiences.
