Quality is Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics’ highest priority.  To gauge its strengths and opportunities to improve quality, SPMHC recently participated in the Wisconsin Forward Award process.

“It’s wonderful to be recognized for working toward such a high level of quality and safety for our patients,” said Larry Schroeder, SPMHC’s Chief Executive Officer. “The more ways we find to improve our ability to provide extraordinary healthcare, the better we serve the people of our communities.  We look forward to providing even more enhanced care in our new facility.”

The Wisconsin Forward Award program, based on the Baldrige National Quality Program, promotes significant achievements in continuous improvement and excellent performance—business practices that ensure the economic vitality of Wisconsin organizations and the communities they serve.

“The Forward process provides an opportunity for us to look at our organization from a new perspective,” explained Carla Peck, SPMHC’s Vice President of Quality & Compliance. “We had to ask ourselves critical questions about how and why we’re doing things and then use documentation to prove our results.  We’re on the right track and we’re continuing to learn and adopt new ways to improve the quality of what we do for our patients and communities.”

In recognition of SPMHC’s commitment toward improvement, a Wisconsin Forward Award was presented to CEO Larry Schroeder at an awards ceremony August 31.
