SPMHC recognized nationally for high quality patient care

Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics was recently recognized nationally for excelling in areas of quality and patient care. SPMHC received the award from Amerinet for revamping its approach to joint replacement care, resulting in better inpatient surgical experiences, better recovery outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.

“This award recognizes our commitment to provide extraordinary healthcare from the heart -- one person at a time,” said SPMHC’s CEO Larry Schroeder. “We are grateful to Amerinet for this national distinction on behalf of all of us at SPMHC our community.

SPMHC offers a full spectrum of orthopedic care and features a Joint Replacement Center especially for hip and knee patients. The center serves patients nationwide, offering a unique team approach which incorporates a family member as a personalized coach. Since opening in September 2008, SPMHC has been able to discharge 90 percent of patients home for rehabilitation – rather than to skilled nursing care. That’s up from 67 percent previously.

Amerinet awards member organizations who truly excel in reducing healthcare costs and improving healthcare quality. The Amerinet Award was presented to SPMHC during the Amerinet Conference in September.
