Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics’ Chief Executive Officer Larry Schroeder accepts the 2012 Wisconsin Forward Award, Mastery level from Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence Board Chair Joe Kinsella. The WCPE administers the Wisconsin Forward Award.
“Quality and patient safety is our top priority and it’s wonderful to be recognized for our hard work and continuous improvements,” said Larry Schroeder, SPMHC’s Chief Executive Officer.
The Wisconsin Forward Award program, administered by the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and based on the Baldrige National Quality Program, is Wisconsin’s premier organization for assessing and recognizing high-performance management principles. The award promotes excellence in organizational management, recognizes the achievements and results of Wisconsin organizations implementing performance excellence systems, and publicizes successful performance excellence management strategies. To be considered for a Wisconsin Forward Award, SPMHC submitted to a rigorous comprehensive review process, including a multiple-day on-site visit with Wisconsin Forward Award examiners. The examiners determine if an award is warranted, and which level is appropriate.
“The Forward Award process is an opportunity for us to get feedback on our approach to quality improvement,” explained Carla Peck, SPMHC’s Vice President of Quality & Compliance. “The true value for us is having someone outside of our organization review what we are doing and tell us what they see as strengths and opportunities.”
