Sauk Prairie Memorial named a "Best Place to Work in Healthcare"

Modern Healthcare magazine announced this week that Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics (SPMHC), was named to its list of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare. In a message to staff, CEO Larry Schroeder said, "I am delighted that we are being recognized by a national healthcare magazine as exemplifying the kind of organization that makes it possible for our employees to provide high quality personalized service to our patients and their families."

When asked why SPMHC is a great place to work, 13-year employee Jane Getschmann, RN, commented, "For me, the size of our hospital is ideal - employee's get to know their co-workers from all departments which makes for great working relationships and enables us to meet our patients' needs quickly."

Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a PA-based firm that administers "best places to work" programs nationwide. Modern Healthcare conducted this program to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level. The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked an in-depth set of questions that resulted in an analysis in 8 core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
