Summary of 2025 Activities

The Friends of Sauk Prairie Healthcare continue to be a meaningful source of support for our volunteers, patients, and staff. While many of our supporters are no longer able to volunteer in the ways they once did, your generosity and continued involvement remain essential to the success of our organization.

In 2025, your support helped us celebrate volunteers, fund critical equipment, and create moments of connection throughout our hospital and clinics. Every ticket purchased, donation made, and event attended made a difference.

National Volunteer Week

We once again celebrated our volunteers during National Volunteer Week with a gathering at the Dorf Haus on the last Sunday in April. This year’s theme, “You’re the Bee’s Knees,” set the tone for a fun and heartfelt evening honoring the people who give so much of themselves to our community. It was a joy to recognize them together.

Bake Sale

In conjunction with our Bingo event in October, we brought back our bake sale. Thank you to each and every one of our supporters who baked to help us with the sale. It was a great success!

BINGO

We tried something new this fall with our very first Bingo fundraiser on October 5 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and it was a hit. Sixty-two players joined us for an afternoon full of laughs, friendly competition, and community.

Raffle Basket

Since people loved our “12 Gifts of the Holidays” Basket Raffle in 2024, we decided to redo it for 2025. Again, it was a hit! We’d like to thank all who purchased tickets and the donors that helped make the raffle a success.

Vendor Sales

Our vendor sales continued to be an important source of funding in 2025. They included three chocolate sales for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas. We held logowear sales, and two book sales – one before Easter and one before Thanksgiving. These events are simple ways to support the Friends while treating yourself or someone else.

Gift Shop

Our largest fundraiser, the Sauk Prairie Hospital Gift Shop, raised an incredible $54,000 in 2025. These funds directly support the Friends mission to “improve our hospital and clinics through service, education and special projects”. This would never have been possible without the help of a very dedicated and talented group of volunteers that provide excellent service to all who visit. The shop has truly become a destination shop in Sauk Prairie. If you haven’t stopped in recently, we invite you to visit.

Funding Provided by Friends of Sauk Prairie Healthcare

Because of your continued support, the Friends of SPH were able to grant approximately $59,500 to Sauk Prairie Healthcare in 2025. These funds directly improved patient care, comfort, safety, and staff support across multiple departments.Some highlights include:

• Three grants from 2024 paid out in 2025 including a floral cooler for the gift shop, Stryker wheelchair with oxygen tank holder for our Emergency Department, and a donor milk fridge for the Birth Center.
• Car seat beds and infant car beds for the Birth Center and Women’s Health Department.
• Continued support of the newborn simulator by providing a grant for a vital signs bedside monitor.
• Post-Birth Alert Bands and educational materials for new parents in the Birth Center.
• A bariatric physical therapy treatment table to improve accessibility and patient safety in our Physical Therapy department.
• A Stairmaster for the Wellness Center to further enhance the fitness of rehab patients, and fitness members.
• A blanket warmer for the Infusion Center in Acute Care providing comfort to patients, especially those with the inability to regulate body temperature due to their treatments.
• An anti-fatigue mat for the Pharmacy to help support ergonomics for our staff.
• A $9,137 grant to our Laboratory for a blood bank cell washer, used to ensure compatibility during blood transfusions.
• Support for Continuum of Care programs, including tokens, and apparel for the Discharge with Dignity program.
• A donation to support Volunteer Services and recognize the support given to the Friends of Sauk Prairie Heathcare.
• A significant donation to support Sauk Prairie Healthcare’s Capital Campaign to fund construction of a new primary care clinic on our main hospital campus.
