Sauk Prairie Hospital Celebrates Last Baby Born at Old Hospital

Prairie du Sac, WI – Sauk Prairie Hospital marked the end of an era when the last baby was born in the old hospital located at 80 First Street.

On Saturday, April 5th Sauk Prairie Hospital successfully moved from 80 First Street to the new site at 260 26th Street in Prairie du Sac.

Colleen and Jeremy Neefe of Lone Rock welcomed Lennon Rae (their second child) into the world on Friday, April 4th. Dr. Suzanne Welsch delivered Lennon at 10:06 a.m. The Birth Center staff celebrated the joyous milestone by presenting mom and dad with a gift basket.

Staff is anxiously awaiting the first baby to be born at the new hospital, which could happen any day. The family will also receive a gift basket full of goodies to mark the historic milestone.

There have been 12,947 people born at the hospital since 1956.
