Roxbury Rural Run & Kids Country Mile

Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone go to the Dorf Haus to help us bid a fond farewell at the 14th and final Roxbury Rural Run and Kids Country Mile. You’ll find plenty of special touches and blasts from the past as we celebrate 14 great years, 6,000 participants and $215,000 raised for Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation.  You'll arrive to music on the grounds that will get your blood pumping and energy flowing. Bring your jogging stroller but for safety's sake we ask that you leave Fido at home.  Come early for a cup of Blue Spoon coffee and cheer on our youngest runners at 8:15 am.

Families will love our two youth races. A Sauk Prairie Healthcare exercise instructor leads the kids in musical warm-ups.  The Half Pint Half Mile takes place on the grounds for children age 5 and younger. Parents can run with their little ones as they chase the giant running corn cob around the field.  (You just have to come see it!) Everybody gets a brightly colored ribbon as they are cheered across the main finish line. Older children take to the street for the Kids Country Mile, a 1-mile timed road race for ages 6 through 11. Medals are given for 1st-3rd place for boys and girls in each age group.

The scenic beauty of northwest Dane County is the perfect setting for our 5K and 10K courses. Runners and walkers will enjoy the gently rolling hills and picturesque rural character of Roxbury township. Our bobble-head trophies make great souvenirs and are given to the top male and female finishers overall and in each age category.  We're famous for our refreshments: Blue Spoon coffee, orange juice, scones, bagels & cookies, bananas and oranges. Maybe even some chocolate milk!
