Dane County District One EMS – STOP THE BLEED/Helmets for Children:
The grant was used to purchase STOP THE BLEED training kits for community training in lifesaving skills and provided 100 bicycle helmets to children in the community to promote safety and wellbeing.
Mazomanie Fire Department – Firefighter Fitness Class:
Funds were used to support firefighters by providing an aerobics class to improve cardiovascular health with a goal to reduce cardiac events.
Mazomanie United Church of Christ - The Literacy Project – Growing Readers:
Funds provided first books to newborns and families to encourage reading and to grow young readers, with the goal of encouraging and improving reading skills of children and adults. By improving the person’s ability to read and/or increase the person’s reading level the health of that person and the family is improved.
Village of Mazomanie – Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for the pool:
The grant purchased an AED for the pool that provides a safe and fun environment for children and families in the entire area. The pool served more than a thousand patrons this summer and gave swimming lessons to approximately 400 students. Although the team is trained to use an AED, until now they did not have one onsite.
