Lodi Middle School – Flex Farms Tower Garden:
The grant was used to support a garden that provided fresh local produce for the school lunch program and for the local Food Pantry when school was not in session. It also helped teach students about where food comes from, how nutritious local food is, how healthy food can be tasty and how easy it is to grow their own healthy food.
Lodi Public Library – Healthy Summer Programs 2022:
The money received allowed the library to host programs in Lodi’s parks, including some healthy programming and also to purchase balance materials to create a balance obstacle course. Funds also helped the library to replace old materials and add more to accommodate growing numbers.
Lodi Schools CREW – Mileage Club:
The grant helped provide access to a program for all K-2 kids during their lunch recess time that included motivational movement for kids to engage in during their recess.
School District of Lodi – Trail Trekkers Middle School Hiking Club:
These funds helped to address a lack of non-competitive exercise activities for youth in their early teens. Additionally, as young people begin establishing their identities and health habits, the grant supported exploration of healthy hobbies individuals can do for a lifetime.
Ice Age Nordic Ski Club – Lodi Area XC Ski Club:
Funds were used to support the club, which is dedicated to providing opportunities for community-based cross-country skiing, youth and junior development and the promotion of health outdoor activity in the winter.
