Sauk Prairie native Dr. Nathan Grunewald is new Urologic Surgeon

Dr. GrunewaldSauk Prairie Healthcare is pleased to welcome Urologic Surgeon Nathan Grunewald, MD, to Surgical Associates.

As the only full-time Urologic Surgeon in Sauk Prairie, Dr. Grunewald specializes in kidney stones; enlarged prostate; male fertility, including vasectomy, low testosterone and erectile dysfunction; incontinence; recurrent urinary tract infection; and genitourinary cancers including kidney, bladder, prostate and testicular. 

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Grunewald on board full-time for our community,” said Larry Schroeder, Sauk Prairie Healthcare CEO. “His presence will enable us to offer additional surgical options right here in Sauk Prairie.”  

A native of Sauk Prairie, Dr. Grunewald will start seeing patients in mid-September.  

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to return to my hometown Sauk Prairie,” said Dr. Grunewald. “Knowing this community has a well-respected hospital with a team of dedicated physicians and staff, as well as appreciative patients, made the decision to return and serve the community an easy one.” 

Dr. Grunewald received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2011 where he was also elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. He completed his Urologic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. 

Dr. Grunewald enjoys spending time with his wife, a nurse anesthetist, and three-year-old daughter as well as the outdoors and fishing. He is looking forward to reconnecting with the community.
