Sauk Prairie Healthcare is proud to announce that the Wisconsin Department of Health Services has classified Sauk Prairie Hospital as a Level III Trauma Center.

In Wisconsin, there are 124 hospitals that participate in the trauma system. Each year, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services designates a Trauma Care Level (I, II, III, IV and Unclassified) for each participating hospital. These classifications ensure that patients are brought to the closest hospital that has the appropriate resources needed to provide treatment.

“Receiving the Level III classification is a significant milestone in providing the best possible care for our community,” said Larry Schroeder, Sauk Prairie Healthcare CEO. “The designation is proof of the dedication our staff has to our patients and being there when they need us the most.”
