Concussion Baseline Testing

Sauk Prairie Healthcare offers ImPACT, a new concussion management tool for athletes. This 30-minute test assesses reaction time, processing speed, and different types of memory, and helps establish how the athlete's brain functions normally.  This test can be done individually or with your team.

Post-concussion Testing and Assessment

If the athlete gets injured and a concussion - or brain injury - is suspected, they are tested again to see if the injury has affected their brain function. If their score after the injury isn't similar to the baseline test, they aren't ready to go back on the field.  In fact, if an athlete returns to the field before recovering from a concussion and injures their brain again, the injury could be much more severe.

Following the post-concussion testing by an athletic trainer, an appointment is made with the below providers or your primary care physician to interpret the ImPACT test and provide return to play recommendations:

Baseline testing is offered free of charge to high school student athletes of Lodi,  Sauk Prairie and River Valley school districts.
$20 for other school districts and young athletes ages 11+
