Rehabilitation Services

We offer rehabilitation services from physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, cardiac rehab specialists, and respiratory therapists at Sauk Prairie Healthcare. Our focus is improving the whole person – not just the parts of the body or condition being treated. We view you as more than another patient, but an important person who requires diligent care uses individualized, goal-oriented treatment. We emphasize hands-on or manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient participation. The goal of any type of rehabilitation is restore or improvement function in the body.

Physical Therapy

Our skilled physical therapists examine, evaluate, and treat people who have functional and mobility limitations. Through education, exercise, and hands-on treatment, our goal is to reduce pain or other bothersome symptoms to help you return to activities you enjoy.

Our physical therapists address:

  • Post-operative rehabilitation after surgery
  • Sports injuries
  • Neurologic injuries such as stroke
  • Repetitive motion injuries
  • Work-related injuries
  • Vertigo (dizziness)
  • Fall prevention and balance improvement

Occupational Therapy

Have you sustained or endured an illness or injury that makes your everyday activities, or occupations, more difficult? Then you may benefit from occupational therapy. This type of rehabilitation helps improve your functional independence so you can participate in the things you want and need to do, including everyday activities like household chores or self-grooming.

At Sauk Prairie Healthcare, our occupational therapists help patients of all ages relearn or improve the “skills for the job of living.” Common interventions include help for those recovering from an injury so they can regain functional skills, and providing support to elderly patients who experience physical and/or cognitive difficulties.

Each patient is given individualized treatment regimens to meet their personal goals. Our occupational therapists create customized treatment plans to improve the patient’s capabilities and abilities to perform daily activities.

Speech-Language Pathology (Speech Therapy)

From the youngest children to older adults and everyone in-between, our speech-language pathologist (SLP) is an expert in the treatment of multiple types of speech, swallowing, and communication issues. Our specially trained SLP helps patients improve their oral-motor skills, develop better verbal communication, and become an intelligible speaker. Many require the help of an SLP to process and/or comprehend language, put words together, and instill confidence, trust, and self-esteem.
